One of the memos says "not later than (NLT)" and my husband said it would not have been shown that way. You use the NLT as an acceptable abbreviation and there is no reason to have spelled it out. It would not be considered military form in his opinion.

Many questions about these memos. I hope the media questions their authenticity. As should the WH, obviously!

Indeed. I would find it to be "poetic justice" for the documents presented to be authentic by the conventional media were shown to be forgeries by the new media. It would be like the NYT Jason Blair incident on steroids.

I remember reading an article in readers digest in the military submissions section.

A secretary typed a letter for her boss who was a general. In the memo, she abbreviated a lot of terms and the general sent the letter back for correction with the abbreviations circled and the letters DNA.

The secretary had to ask what DNA stood for, it was Do Not Abbreviate.
