LANCASTER, Pa. - Teresa Heinz Kerry said Wednesday that "only an idiot" would fail to support her husband's health care plan."Of course, there are idiots," Heinz Kerry, the wife of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, told the (Lancaster) Intelligencer Journal for Thursday's editions.
Kerry's proposal includes health care subsidies for children, the unemployed, small companies and more; and government assistance to insurers and employers that keep premiums for workers down.
If Kerry is elected, Heinz Kerry predicted that opponents of his health care plan would be voted out of office. "Only an idiot wouldn't like this," she said.
Heinz Kerry stumped in Lancaster, Harrisburg and York on Wednesday, the third day of a four-day campaign swing Pennsylvania.
"I don't have to sell it - the people want it," Heinz Kerry said of the health plan. "The common man doesn't look at me as some rich witch. I talk about what I see. It has always been so. You judge people not by their pocketbook but by their actions. Walk the walk."

It's hard to think of a First Lady, potential or actual, who is or was as abrasive and seemingly unsuitable. Once in awhile, there are threads where every post is a gem and delight; this is one of those threads. But your post is absolutely accurate: if THK wanted to provide health care for uninsured children, she personally has the funds and control over enough foundation funds to do so for a long, long time. She should put her money towards that goal instead of her other various "philanthropic" (yeah, right!) pet causes. That indeed would be "walking the walk".
How does it feel, TahRayzhazha, when other people tell YOU what you are supposed to do with YOUR money? I hope you're as offended as we are when you spout your mouth off about how we lesser mortals (ie. the "common man") are supposed to spend OUR money.
