Though a Western Christian myself, I have a great deal of sympathy toward the Eastern Orthodox Church. I think I might have found my calling in life: to communicate to fellow Catholics (and Protestants) just what our cousins in the East face, what they have been facing for centuries, and what we must face with them.

The Orthodox world, by contrast, is not shaped by the values and patterns of modernity, much less post-modernity, but rather by traditional cultures that resist rationalistic humanism. That resistance is perceived, by the Western elite class, as subversive and dangerous. They hate Orthodoxy because it has at least the potential of fanning the dormant embers of revival and resistance in their own societies, which must not be allowed.

I think this describes the reaction of the Western elite class to any kind of traditional, conservative religion, not just the Orthodox. Interesting read! Thanks,

Srdja Trifkovic is a Serb nationalist and was an advisor to Biljana Plavsic during the Bosnian war.

To put it bluntly, the guy's credibility is zilch, as he didn't see too much of a problem killing Catholic Croats alongside Bosnian Muslims while the killing was good.

Now that things haven't necessarily turned out the way he and his ilk would have liked, he gets to play the part of victim and regurgitate this Serbian BS about how they've gotten screwed simply through the ill will and prejudices of the West.

Those 300+ Catholic churches the Serbs destroyed? Those concentration camps in Bosnia? The mass graves in Belgrade where Kosovar Albanian corpses were hidden to try and hide them from the West?

Mere inconveniences best forgotten by all when Srdja speaks.
