On a recent thread dicussing the impending demise of the AWB, Ancesthntr and I discussed getting together for some shooting fun at the Bullet Hole outdoor range in San Antonio this weekend.
What we came up with was meeting up on Sunday, Sept 12th around 12:00 at the range for some friendly socialising and some fun shooting. A map and details on how to get there from around the area are on the ranges website.
I'm planning on bringing at least one co-worker, possibly two. Ancesthntr will be there and may be bringing a body or two as well. This is a fairly off the cuff event and is about as informal as it gets. I'll be bringing a cooler full of ice, water, and soda. I'll of course have my personal firearms and ammo I'll be shooting that day, but not much else. The range does have a couple of full auto's that they rent by the magazine, and you may want to call them ahead of time if you plan on buying ammo there.
Range fees are listed on the website, but it shakes out to be a one time $3 fee for a range card, and $7.50 for all day on either the rifle or pistol ranges. I'm looking forward to seeing if I still have what it takes to shoot an AR at 300 yards. Ought to be interesting.

Sunday the 12th at noon? you must be Cowboy fans. I'd like to be there, but my Texans are playing the Chargers startin at noon. I wasjust looking at my S&W CS40 thinking it needs to be taken out for a run around the block too (and cleaned). Damn.

Are the Texans lookin' good this year? Haven't been paying much attention this year. New baby, tryin' to move, work... it is a hectic life I lead. ;-)

Sorry I'm gonna have to miss it; I've got some church obligations that I need to see through, and I'm on the other side of town from the Bullet Hole. Even if we wrap up on time I doubt I could be there much earlier than 3pm or so. Sounds like fun though; I keep coming across my shooter's card in my wallet and thinking that I need to go make sure the ol' hog rifle shoots straight after putting a new stock on it earlier this year. Let me know when the next one is coming up, and have fun.
