i didn't watch 60 minutes but you're exactly right about the signature blocks....goodness, i should know, i was a secretary for the DAF from 1969 to 1991 when i left the pentagon to work for the navy and the signature block was ALWAYS on the left hand margin....I HATE CBS!
As I recall it, we (USAF) changed to match the rest of the DoD.
