"Did Bush sign one?"

I read that the reason the Globe was able to file suit for any remaining records was because Bush had previously signed Form 180.

Here's a link to NARA's page on FOIA & The Privacy Act as it pertains to military records.

There is no way that the Globe could successfully sue for Bush's records. If that was the case, I'd sue the government to get access to my dead uncle's records. I'm not allowed to see them because I'm not his widow, sister or daughter. If one could sue to view anybody's military records, the Swift Boat Vets, which is comprised of several lawyers, would have done it to get to Kerry's files.

I'm still not exactly sure how the Globe actually sued for the other files, seeing as the FOIA and The Privacy Act clearly state that nothing will be released unless it is approved by the individual. The process they used or how they went about it seems to be a big secret with them. But since they were able to access these newly discovered records, I'd say that Bush didn't fight it because he had signed Form 180. And if he didn't fight it, he wasn't afraid of anything damaging in them.

Sean reported today on his radio show, that Bush did actually sign form 180. It was also reported again tonight, and referenced in a story about President Bush letting the Pentagon know how miffed he was at how they have handled his records. The Presidents COS had to remind the Pentagon that it was the President's form 180 that had originally requested the records be released!!

kerry will be forced to sign, or it is the end for his campaign realistically.
