Lawsuit uncovers Bush Guard records

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Months after insisting it could find no more records of President Bush's Air National Guard service, the Defense Department has released more than two dozen pages of files, including Bush's report card for flight training and dates of his flights.

--snip--

The newly released records show Bush, a lieutenant in the Texas Air National Guard, ranked No. 22 in a class of 53 pilots when he finished his flight training at Moody Air Force Base in Georgia in 1969.

--snip--

The records also show Bush made a grade of 88 on total airmanship and a perfect 100 for flying without navigational instruments, operating a T-38 System and studying applied aerodynamics. Other scores ranged from 89 in flight planning to 98 in aviation physiology.

The newly released records do not include any from five categories of documents Bush's commanders had been required to keep in response to the gaps in Bush's training in 1972 and 1973. For example, National Guard commanders were required to perform an investigation whenever any pilot skipped a medical exam and forward the results up the Air Force chain of command. No such documents have surfaced.

These records show that the President was a competent pilot who was more of a 'stick and rudder' man than a 'dials and switches' pilot. As far as applied aerodynamics, more than likely this is the equivalent of flight technique analysis for the F-102 and the T-38 (his textbook was probably "Aerodynamics for Naval Aviators" which is top heavy on the T-38).

Oh, and for the record, we survived Frances. Now we have to wait for Ivan Ivanovich.

I'm not a big fan of Bill O'Reilly, but he definitely insisted the assassins would be out in droves this week, and they are.

So now the press has sued to get more of Bush's records, sued to open up Ryan's sealed divorce papers, yet none of them have sued to do the same to Kerry? Hypocrisy, thy name is liberal press.

Everyone should have expected this, but I remember this whole issue of Bush’s service was investigated by the Boston Globe, the New York Times, the L.A. Times, and a variety of other elite media outlets during the 2000 Presidential Campaign. It resurfaced in February of this year when McAuliffe started echoing Michael Moore and the media again was in a 24 hour a day frenzy peppering the White House with a barrage of questions and demands for records. Now, after they’ve smeared the Swift Boat Vets, informed us they were a front for Bush, and now that Kerry has attacked and Kerry’s down in the polls – the media feels its time to crank up the AWOL charge again.

Damn, I don't know why we haven't seen it before. Obviously GWB flew the Bin Laden's and the rest of the Saudia's out after 9/11. (/sarcasm)
