No this isn't the solution at all. Assassination is a tool but a limited one. The Bush doctrine is the only way. The problem is that people misunderstand the full extent of the Bush philosophy. The idea that sovereign nations are held responsible for the scum that inhabit their borders is the real power. At then point in time any country's scum become such a force that another 9/11 might be possible, that country is now a viable target of the U.S. They have a choice take care of the scum themselves or run the risk of the U.S. to take care of it for them.
This doctrine has already reaped benefits with Libya and Pakistan. This is the way countries should take care of things. Out in the open and above board. Too much special ops and cloak and dagger makes people believe the problems aren't all that bad to begin with. The leftists use that to their advantage. Look at Iraq. I see it that the resistance we've run into means we've flushed out a huge pocket of possible terrorists. The left sees insurgents that have a valid reason to hate America.
The unyielding anger Pres Bush spoke of after 9/11 is the same anger Putin and countrymen - heck, all of us - feel now. Too, Pres Bush said those who harbor terrorists would also feel our wrath. How is Putin any different?
The Bush Doctrine is *key!*
