TERRORIZING SCHOOLS
New York Post ^ | 9/8/2004 | Ralph Peters

September 8, 2004 -- THE horror of the terror attack on a Russian primary school still resounds. From security officers to soccer moms, the sudden question is, "How can we protect our children from terror?"

In the short term, the only conceivable answer is to renew our offensive efforts against these butchers who claim to act in the name of their god. But a crucial part of the long-term answer is perfectly clear to the terrorists, even if we ignore it.

The terrorist assault on civilization and modernity has many aspects, from barbarism toward women to bombings and massacres. But no dimension of the struggle is more important than the Islamist war against secular education. All other progress flows from knowledge. And the terrorists know it.

"A good reason to Home School"

Then the terrorists will have won.

(Not that I disagree with you, btw)

You are 100% right, dd5339, unfortunately. The terrorist cells already here have had years to form, establish themselves, case locations, get explosive supplies, train, train, train and train for their operations.

90% of America is oblivious to this, and is lulled into a false sense of security.

Remember what The Beltway Snipers Shooters did in the Fall of '01? Just 50 highly-trained teams could bring America to its collective knees.

I'm afraid there are too many *Chief Mooses* out there to effectively take control, so we'd have to form teams and get the job done ourselves.

I'd love to *reach out and touch a terrorist* with my AR-10 or Barrett M82A1.

In Afghanistan, Taliban remnants bombed a rural schoolhouse. The handful of dead could not compete with the carnage in Russia, but the purpose of the attack was equally grim. The terrorists killed their fellow Afghans — for the horrendous crime of studying math and science.

That village school had not removed Koranic studies from its humble curriculum. Its sin lay in trying to impart useful knowledge in addition to the medieval mumbo-jumbo that our Saudi enemies support with global funding.

Nice to see Ralph Peters call them for what they are.

...they are certainly capable of making Mecca & Medina into parking lots...

I think the fine men and women of the USAF would be happy to tip their wings in salute to the flights of Russian bombers after dumping some tonnage on Mecca.

"we can finally crush the human filth is to BREAK them like we did to the Japanese"

Fortunately, it's the institution that causes the problem. If the children of the ancient Samurai can be revived than so can the ancient telescope engineers (muslims). There is hope.

Looks like we won't have to worry about engineered WMDs if math and science are "horrendous crimes". Unfortunately, the incredible stupidity of the extremists will more than compensate for the lack of physical weaponry. Bush should have claimed that there were WMIs (Weapons of Mass Idiocy).
