NEWS SUMMARY
Yesterday, we wrote that if the election dialogue is about Iraq, John Kerry can't win.
After we published those words, the day's rhetoric was dominated by Iraq, via statements from the candidates.
And it would not be wrong to say that, for the umpteenth time in a row, John Kerry had no better than a tie in the news cycle.
This despite the reality of the "facts on the ground" events of the day the much-reported 1,000 American military death in Iraq and the record federal deficit that should have been easy pickin's, even for the candidate of the Mommy Party.
Today, John Kerry goes to the same Cincinnati hall where George Bush once gave a big speech about Iraq to give his own (yet another . . . ) talk about the topic.
Let us be, as a great man once said, perfectly clear:
If the election debate is about John Kerry's capacity to explain his vote for the war resolution but against the $87 billion, he will lose. (Jim VandeHei of the Washington Post lays out the recent history illustrating our point in a must-read LINK)
But there are Kerry aides who argue that Iraq is going to be an issue in this race no matter what, and that there is room for Kerry to maneuver to his advantage (on the much Noted casualty milestone, on the financial cost, on the alienation of some traditional American allies).
Dick Cheney certainly raised the stakes in the national security war of words yesterday, and Kerry aims to do the same thing today.

Skerry gave yet another blame G Winner speech. Gave nothing of substance. Yet did promise a Soviet style health care system for kids. Isn't it comforting to know that when you child starts Pre-K the Government will take over their health care. God what a nightmare. First thing to go is Parental consent and control. And how many parents will lose their children if they refuse to allow their child to be given happy pills.
I further think that the voters have made up their minds on both Bush's Nat. Guard and on Kerry's medals, and that there will be no further movement on either---and any attempt to further move on either will backfire, which is good for us, because the Swifties have already moved Kerry's numbers on that issue down probably 5-10%. People are going to see attacks on Bush's record as petty and avoiding the "real issues." This will NOT, however, be the same thing as Kerry's post-Vietnam problems.
Finally, Kerry can't talk "War on Terror" cause he's a wussie and everyone knows it. He's in a box, as I said here in August. ("In a Box," http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1204056/posts)
I listened to Kerry's speech in Cincy this morning. He started off sounding just like Clinton. Not in the sense of copying his style, but I swear, I heard Clinton use the exact words in one of his campaign speeches. Then he went on with his attempts to emulate our predecessor, but couldn't quite get a smile to come when he attempted one of his lame jokes. If he's going to plagiarize, he better study more than just the words because he couldn't carry it off. He flubbed this speech big time and the audience looked and acted bored.
Glenn Beck commented this morning that Kerry constantly refers to "tough decisions" and "right choices" without ever explaining what they are.
It is all just hot-air!
I'm John Kerry and I'm here to make the right choices in the war on terror. I will make the right choices for America.
I read somewhere this morning that the Dems are going to try to exploit the deaths of our servicemen by going to the states who have lost the most.
I suggest that the states who have lost the most probably also have the most fine patriotic young men who VOLUNTEER to protect this country.
"We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and then bid the geldings to be fruitful."
-- C.S. Lewis
If ABC News is giving Kerry a hard time, then he is in big trouble. ABC has Kerried water for a long time. I wonder if the queen has spoken to them?
