I didn't think this was NEW, but bears repeating anyway.

I thought we had a pretty good idea this was why France, Germany, & Russia were opposing us in the Security Council, and found verification of it in the first parts of the invasion of Iraq.

As I say, doesn't hurt to remind people why we didn't get the "coalition" they wanted....

And now we also know that the French were behind the forged uranium papers--a deliberate attempt to humiliate us worldwide. Now this--but we already knew some of this, didn't we? They kept finding weapons and other materials from the French--newer vintage, not pre-1990s.

It wasn't just the weapons business, remember. The Oil For Food scam was very profitable for them. No one in the Axis of Weasels wanted to shut off the money spigot.

It was more than an implication, it was in fact said. There are several articles on it, and even more that mention it within the stories of the Beslan atrocity. It came from a bunch of "mid-level U.S. officials"--read, Clinton holdovers in State.

This morning, however, I find to my great delight that Colin Powel has over-ruled that philosophy, and said he, too, would refuse to bargain with baby-killers. Thank goodness the adults are in charge! I shudder to think of it, but I honestly believe that Kerry would have agreed with those "mid-level officials" in State. In fact, it would have been "policy."

It's convenient for me. If you call it, I can be there.

Very true.

Was I reading this wrong this morning? I heard a later report that France is *still* supplying the insurgents with weapons.

I've had too much to do & too little sleep lately. Bad combination.

No. Gertz is getting his facts wrong yet again. Simply a journalist using dodgy information to boost his report - simply for sensationalism. All the ROLAND missiles found by the Coalition were from the batch supplied in the 1980s. This includes both the US and Polish finds. All the missiles contained batch tags from the 1980s. The 2003 canister cases have nothing to do with the missile manufacturers or a delivery date. The Coalition EOD teams also found US TOW missiles date stamped from the 1980s. These had been from the 1980s Iraq-Iraq war and equipment looted from the Kuwaiti Army. The SNEB 68mm rocket in the Arab world is as common as the Russian supplied RPG.

The amount of arms cased found in Iraq marked 'Jordainian Armed Forces' is quite staggering. The Jordanians either officially, or unoficially were transferring arms at a predigious rate.
