Funny, what is the US doing in Iraq? I could go on and on and show the similarities between IDF and US military operations.

It also seems he indirectly compares IDF operations to terrorist attacks, both are "responses between the Israelis and Palestinians" no?

Its sad the US has not yet figured out the Palestinian Authority is a terrorist regime, even after this regime has been responsible for American murders as well.

Revenge may not be a solution, but tit-for-tat sure is.

Revenge may not be a solution, but wiping out the terrorists and their supporting physical and financial infractructure sure is.

Dang, I wish we could just tell the Saudis and their oil to go pound sand.

I want to see the transcript for everything Powell said... This doesn't make any sense.

Powell: "revenge is not a solution."

Obviously he wasn't referring to the recent IDF action,
because it clearly took out operators preparing more
attacks in Israel.

"Revenge" would be Israel blowing up random Pali busses.

Since when is resolute action against a terrorist organization revenge? Powell needs to review what Hamas' status is, according to the US govt.

Seems like under the "your with us or against us" policy Israel should be able to take out those who terrorize them.
I applaud the IDF for protecting their citizens through preemption.

We are hurting for an American State Department.
What will it take to get one?

Good posts. Good comments. The U.S. State Dept., including Powell, just needs to shut the he** up. First, telling the Russians to be diplomatic with the Chechynan terrorists and second, telling the Israelis to play nice with terrorists. How about this for a statement, " if you don't want to be killed, stop committing acts of terror."

Revenge may not be a solution, but tit-for-tat sure is.

I refuse to engage in a dialog between losers who can't tell the difference between "revenge" and "retribution".

Powell needs to review his position on quite a few issues.

"Its sad the US has not yet figured out the Palestinian Authority is a terrorist regime..."

I expect you refer to our islamic friendly bunch at the State Department and not your regular old American, because alot of the latter have darn well known for a long time what the Palitinians were.

From Powell opposes attack on Hamas training camp Secretary of State Colin Powell disapproved on Tuesday of an Israeli helicopter attack on a Hamas training camp in Gaza. "Retaliation is not a solution"

He again praised an offer by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to remove all 7,500 Jews who live there

Tit for tat is also not the answer. Driving the islamist into the dirt, laying them to waste and basically making them fear your wrath more then anything else on this Earth is.

I would disregard Powell's rantings. Israel has the right to defend itself and always should be proactive. Powell was the one, during the first gulf war who informed then President Bush to stop the blood shed. Stormin Norman would have done away with Sadaam back then. Drive on IDF!!

True, but there have been times where by Executive Order sanctions were not placed on the Palestinian Authority terrorist regime.

This is despicable. Powell must be called on the carpet for this one. Was Tora Bora "revenge"??? This was a training camp for Hamas, not the Gaza Disneyland. What the hell is wrong with this creep?

"...by Executive Order sanctions were not placed on the Palestinian Authority terrorist regime."

Sadly true, yonif. Sometimes I just don't get it, I confess.
