the link is not in question. Normally at FR, if we post an article we post the full article, except if it's on the excerpt list.

It makes it very difficult to retrieve an article/thread down the road, when only an excerpt has been posted. Unless a source is on the excerpt-only list, please post the whole thing. Many fascinating and important threads on FR have incorporated links to earlier (sometimes YEARS earlier) FR postings on the same subject, raising participants knowledge of the long term aspects of the subject, and thus greatly raising the level of discourse. This doesn't work well if the postings contain only an excerpt and link, since most news article links go dead or archive-subscription-only after a very short time.
