I think all government employees including senators and congressmen and X presidents and their wives should get the same quality care as our
wounded combat vets...and even in the same facilities...

Think they would go for that?

wonder why?

But not before the election. The distraction his demise would precipitate would be quite annoying.

I remember Hillary on TV policizing this, stating how she was glad they have health insurance. As she likes to champion the middle class and and poor of this country, how many Americans would be insured if they would turn down taxpayer-subsidized insurance for themselves when they are so wealthy, and put that money toward something else?

I think ex-presidents should be covered, but not ex-Congressmen/women.

The sum is substantial, yes, but to begrudge VIP medical care to a former president, even one who has been impeached and disgraced, is against tradition and protocol...not to mention giving OUR enemies fodder with which to smear us.

Oh, HILLARY'S behavior is inexcusable. But that shouldn't influence "normal" people like us. :)

We the People are paying for it while We the People can't afford medical insurance of our own.

Never meant for this to be petty. However, it's not always easy to maintain composure.

I wish him a speedy recovery. After all, he may be the single biggest catalyst for the success of Free Republic. Nothing to sneeze at.

I just wanted the answer to a technical question. I would assume the taxpayer picks it up. However, which agency provides an ex-President's health insurance remains a mystery to me.

On another note. Did any of you see Rep. Vito Fassella (R-N.Y.) on FOX News Friday? He said Clinton had a heart attack while watching the GOP Convention and realizing it was all over for the RATS in November. If I had said that it would be called "Hate Radio."

Oh, I like that! It would be so wonderful have them wait for days or weeks for an appointment, wait for hours to see the doctor. Military and VA medical care - the best that socialism can buy.

No I didn't see Fassella but I wish that I had. Frankly, my suspicions lead me down a different road on clintoon. Considering that twerpy te-RAY-za was admitted to the hospital a day after clintoon was admitted, my thinking tells me that the ole sexual predator got to twerpy and gave her VD.

Yes, petty. None of us like Clinton, but he is one of only 43 people to ever hold the office of President of the United States.

He should be entitled to the best healthcare. Even if that means paying for a room with a sofa in it and afternoon tea.

It is really immature to make this an issue. This is DU level crap.

Don't be stupid. I know full well what clinton has done to this country.

I have no kind feelings toward Clinton as a person.

But he is a former president, no matter how bad or dangerous he was.

He should be given health care period. I don't care if they put him in a luxury suite.

It doesn't change his crimes at all. But it is a courtesy that I think should be given to all former presidents.

Grow up.

I agree with you 100%.

I'm willing to bet President Reagan's care far out cost Clinton's by-pass.

No one complained then.......(which is good!)
