HSUSA isn't your pet protection group. It's an anti-hunting lobby first.
And they are not just against canned hunts, but ALL hunting.
And "sport hunting" includes deer and turkey hunting, which many in my family use to supplement their food supply.
well see more poachers, more hunters, and more loggers despoiling our natural heritage.
I have no use for poachers, but today's HUNTERS do more to STOP animal extinction than any other group. Who helped the wild turkey flourish now? That would be hunters. Who buys hundreds of acres so it isn't developed? That would be HUNTERS. I sometimes drive by a few hundred acres of wild land fenced off. That's becase of Pheasant's forever.

I must have missed the Kerry photo-op of him setting out "Have a Heart" traps.

Doesn't HSUS have a 501(c)(3) exemption? Hopefully not for long (or does that rule apply only to small, evangelical churches?).

They must have missed the photo-ops of Kerry with his shotgun out there blasting the hell out of those birds.
[Or maybe the gun really wasn't even loaded and it was just a prop for the cameras and all those scenes of Kerry with gun in hand were just staged. hmmmmmmm]

Exactly on target..... where are the rule-watchers on this misguided endorsement?

This is why we do our own animal rescue work. We have a pride of feral cats that keeps the rodent population around our building at zero. Just as Hurricane Isabel was approaching, the female, whom we just missed getting in time, brought here litter to the porch for safety.
We have since captured all, including the big grey daddy we call Pewter, in our Have a Heart trap, and now we get a 25% volume discount at the local vet!
You can't deduct the expenses, but at least you know where your money is going.

Humane society..endorses Communist puke.
Surpised?Nah.
Abortion is considered humane by the left, in fact there should be no moral question on abortion to the left. So he allows for the killing of babies, yet is a gun grabber wanting to save the animals from a conspiratorial death at the hands of Republican and conservative voters!
So yeah, I hope he gets a peace prize as well an dmaybe a hug from his friend Kofi Anon.
Perhaps even some memorabilia from the Greatfull Dead...
Because none of it matters, his campaign and chances at doing much more than being an annoyance in these last days of the election year are slim to none. Might as ewll have him happy about something, perhaps another exhibit in a Communist nation will cause him to experience a bounce!

They are not getting another dime from me either. Is this the way they spend our money, on a PAC instead of on the animals????? They are also going to get an email from me and I don't intend to be nice.

This article decries money going to mink farms as a 'taxpayer boondoggle' and yet is proud of $26 million going to animal protection programs.
Who gets that $26 million and how do they spend it? Inquiring minds wait breathlessly for the answer.

If you're looking for pet rescue groups to replace the Humane Society, I know there's several out there unaffiliated with them. My uncle got his Brittany Spaniel through one his uncle was active in. Greyhounds (retired racers) have one that I see at almost all the county events. They aren't tied to HSUSA and as far as I know, they stay out of the politics.
I'll bet $100 that most of HSUSA's money goes to lobbying as they are extremely organized on that end. (There's HSUSA and more local groups that concentrate more on pets, although they do some anti-hunting as well they the locals aren't ALL bad). They are extremely active on anti-hunting causes here in Michigan. It's too bad really since I hate animal abuse and would back them if they wern't such anti-hunters.

It's easy to write them (click on site and then contact us) and let them know how you feel. I have contributed to the Humane Society for several years, but no more.
Howlin and PhiKapMom, could you ping your lists? They need to hear what some of their contributors think.

HSUS has used the good name of local Humane Societies to fool people into contributing to their very extreme political organization.
Contribute to "local" Humane Societies that really do help animals.
NEVER support HSUS,they're a leftist group stealing honest peoples money through deception.

Just sent the humane society an email. They've received my last donation, last recommendation and last "donation in lieu of flowers" that I've used for family funerals. Having said that, knowing that the liberals flock to organizations like this, their endorsement's not a complete surprise. They'd never in any case endorse GWB.
