Each Sunday, we have a reading from the Old Testament and a Psalm from David to be sung.
About 3-4 years ago I noted that the Old Testament readings were being replaced by what we would call PC New Testament readings. I commented about this to some friends originally from the UK. They said that their relatives and friends in the UK felt that Williams and his bishops were removing the old testament readings in the UK as they were too judgemental and harsh.
Now here's the ultimate irony . . . the religion that is actually based on the "judgmental old testament" (ie, Judaism) is considered the most liberal religion! Does that make any sense at all?
Where in the sam hill to liberal Jews get their notions that the "old testament" is nothing but brotherhood and tolerance? It's absolutely astounding! And as a further irony, liberals who hate the Bible concentrate all their ire and anger on chr*stianity. The Jews mean nothing to them except an example of "diversity" and "freedom of religion!"
It's about time that people who hate "racist, sexist, speciesist, homophobic" Bible ultimately don't have their argument with chr*stianity, but with Judaism. But modern Judaism's image is so far removed from Joshua that no one seems to make the connection!
At the turn of the last century "Reform Judaism" actually boasted that it was closer to chr*stianity than was Orthodox Judaism. Now "Reform" actually claims to be more "Jewish" than the Orthodox because they challenge the beliefs of the goyim (ie, creation, the Ten Commandments) more than the Orthodox do.
The tragedy of the past two thousand years is that the wrong people have been trying to emulate Joshua, while the people who are supposed to emulate him have been either withdrawing from society or promoting liberalism. No wonder the world is in such a mess!

Thanks for your excellent summary and analysis of the current situation and the past 2000+ years.
