At this thread there are instructions on how to download any of the other speeches and the Miller/Matthews confrontation, and it also includes instructions on how to burn it all to a CD-R perfect for handing out.
HOWEVER, the URL there for the Bush intro video if from the FOX source which kept cutting out so you don't really see much of the video at all. I managed to create a replacement file that has C-SPAN's stream which is mostly a direct feed of the video. You can download it here. I gave it the same filename as the Fox file, so you don't have to alter the playlist in the other thread, just use this video file instead of that one.
Enjoy, and thanks to FreeDominion.ca for hosting the file. I hear they take donations. :)
bump for later
Hee-Hee!
You are the man!
Thanks, greatly appreciated this!
You can get Rudy all in one file at the GOP site with the URL:
mms://a235.v126583.c12658.g.vm.akamaistream.net/7/235/12658/v0001/streaming.gopconvention.com/video/20040830_Giuliani-1.wmv
I avoided the GOP site because their video quality is not as good as on Fox, but Rudy's speech is an exception to this. You will have to either rename the file to the Fox format, or alter the playlist to make the playlist work.
If anyone else wants videos the GOP sight, start playing the video from their site, right click on the video and select Properties to get the location. Copy the location and past that into Net Transport, but change the http at the start of it to mms first. Their Bush video has the crossing flags entry.
I also noticed an error in the playlist that would cause it to skip the Miller/Matthews video. It has been updated, so just download it again.
For those of you asking how I did the video conversion:
I used EO Video (google it to find it) to convert the .rm to .avi. EO Video has a 4G file size limit on output files though, so I set it to chop the output up into 20min long segments (the intro video started about 44 min into it so I knew that would be safe).
The big problem was that the resulting avi had the audio out of sync with the video by about 3 seconds. I used Quicktime Pro to manually re-sync it and trim it down. I then converted it to WMV with AVI MPEG Video Converter.
I tried a couple of rm to avi converters, and ALL of them would get the audio out of sync like that. I don't know why.
Way to go and Thanks I've been waiting for some Freeper to do this.

Thank you, again.....
I'm glad they included the story and replay of Bush's perfect strike when throwing out the first pitch of the 2001 World Series. You gotta like a guy who can pick up a baseball and groove it in there on the first try.
BTW, Why is it that I picture John Kerry throwing a baseball like a girl (no offense intended, girls ;-)
