I'd have done the same.

This is a good time for people to consider keeping long guns in their vehicles if they don't already.

Right you are sir...

Actually I, as well as a lot of other people I know carry some manner of long gun in their vehicle, even though, as I do, they have a CCW and pack a handgun.

You would be surprised how accurate an SKS Paratrooper model is.

I bought an SKS packed in cosmoline straight from China, after I cleaned it up, I went to sight it in. The damn thing was right on the money at 200yds. Didn't need any adjustment.

The paratrooper model is actually pretty neat. It has a somewhat shorter, yet legal bbl length and a little shorter stock. The rifle handles a great deal like an M1 Carbine but with a peppier round.

Get the hollow point ammo from Wolf for serious social occasions. Full Metal Jacket just zips through soft targets.

SKSs are cheap enough to have spares to help arm others in an emergency, too.

Also,Norinco puts out some cheap, short or long barrel 12 ga. pumps made like Ithaca 37s that make good "extra" shotguns.

Yea, I got a polycarbonate stock for it, the original looked like it had been hacked out of a rotten piece of pine. Still a heck of a value for the money.

There was an article this morning (IIRC) about some 'disappearances' in Chechnya. Masked and armed 'persons' showed up and carted many away. Who? Why? Where?

Aslan Maskhadov. My post. He's a chechen terrorist supporter and they took his family. He needs to tell them where Basayev is, imo. And he does know.

Look, same plan as Nord Ost.

Nord Ost

"In the six weeks prior to the Oct. 23 raid, Barayev's group had accumulated weapons and explosives in a nightclub located in the same building as the theater, Moscow region Governor Boris Gromov told RIA-Novosti. The nightclub Central Station has ties to Ruslan Baisarov, a businessman in the Moscow Chechen diaspora, according to the news agency. The club had been renovated and several Chechens participated in construction work. Barayev's people disguised themselves as workers and hid explosives and arms in the club's back rooms, RIA-Novosti said."

Clearly it is past time to screen construction workers.

One of the guys that was caught getting a drivers license illegally in the Memphis area supposedly had worked on the sprinkler system in the World Trade Center before the 9/11 attacks.
