Ed Rogers, a republican strategist was just on Fox Weekend Live (~10:55 am 9-5-04) and he said, Yesterday it was reported the Kerry's had $5.49 million of income in 2003 they paid $677,000 in taxes.
That's 12% - 12% on five and a half million dollars in income. They want American workers, entrepreneurs, making $200,000 to pay 38%. Thats gonna be a big issue.
Did the Heinz's finally release their taxes? Is this old news?
The dem startegist didn't get to respond.

This will only be a big issue if people hear about this. do you honestly think this will be reported by the MSM?
John Kerry's bright financial future
Of course, Theresa did NOT release her returns. There are lots of questions on Kerry's returns, however.
I read Kerry gave a whopping $3000 to charity too.
They paid $677,000 for our country to defend their $677,000,000 in assets, about 0.1 percent! No wonder the rich keep getting richer. Once you break into the rich club you no longer pay taxes of any significance. The rich see socialism as a way of keeping new money out of their club, as it's near impossible to get rich when the government gives you a 50% shave every year.
OUCH!!! Thats gonna hurt with his beer drinking union buddies...
I'd trust that GWB's tax situation is above reproach, but it would be nice to know the comparison in percentages. Because you know the dims are going to scream when Kerry's data gets more scrutiny. Anyone know where GWB's data can be found?
Kerry Waffles reported, that Tereza will NOT release her tax return until AFTER the election, so the american people can't have their say. The truth is that kerry iniated a law last year to solely benefit his wife's overseas company - and talking about outsourcing. Kerry is such a hypocrite! Also noteworthy of the Kerry's is that they give only LITTLE to any charities, unless they are Hezbollah, or Lawyers Guilt/Tides Foundations.
And I would hope that he is!
He is NOT running on a "tax the rich" platform.
He is saying that the tax codes are crap and need to be totally re-vamped.
I pointed out Kerry's situation to show the disingenuousness of his plan. The VERY rich (Kerry's wife) don't pay taxes. If they raise the rates it will only hurt small business owners (which is 80% of our economy) who will have to fire some people, put off major purchases, slow expansion - business will slow, unemployment will grow and the masses will need more nanny-state programs - bottom line demon-rats dreams will be closer to the socialist system they yearn for where the STATE provides for (read CONTROLS) everything and everybody.

Even so, my 2003 return shows I paid 21% in federal income taxes and an additional 11% in FICA/Self employment taxes for a grand total of 32% of my AGI.
Probably the local polo club had a benefit auction and he donated an old polo shirt for the tax write-off!

You say that like that's OK - a good thing.

If you're aggressive enough, it's not too difficult to construct a legitimate, defensible tax return that drops your marginal rate to 20% or below.
The next year or two is going to be interesting for us, since we'll be claiming an adoption tax credit.
That's it?
Kerrry made $5.49 million but only gave $3,000 to charity?
From what I saw he gave a little over 43K and don't see anywhere 5 mil. I'll have to go back and check. Maybe they are talking about T's returns.
Does your state have an income tax, property tax, sales tax, unemployment tax? California does easily pushing the grand total to 50% or more.
The kerry rich do not have to pay many of these taxes. If they own a mansion in California, they also own one in a state without an income tax where they can claim residency. Many of the mansions in California sit vacant most of the year. If you're good with burglar alarms you can live in high style. It'd be 6 months before anyone realized they had uninvited guests, then they might have to start California's eviction process to get you out!
