How about a few other little comparisons.
Bush spent ONE YEAR training
Kerry spent 1 month
Bush got rave reviews for being a leader - all his superiors wanted to fly with him
Kerry got less than stellar reviews - superiors didn't like his arrogant attitude - one guy (can't remember his name) refused to work with Kerry - saying he was incompetent
Bush had to sign up for SIX YEARS in order to fly jets
Kerry was only required to spend 1 year in Vietnam - but he only lasted 4 months - getting his 3 purple hearts and bugging out.
From Unfit for Command, page 41:
When Kerry and Tedd Peck were transferred from Cam Ranh Bay to An Thoi, Peck told Kerry: "Kerry, follow me no closer than a thousand yards. If you get any closer, I'll teach you what a real Purple Heart is."
There was also another officer who wanted Kerry out of their division but I'm not sure which one that was.
