The schools didn't get their homework done. They get a failing grade.

It's not the schools that made the mistake. It's the Feds and TEA.

well... a better way of saying it - was that if kids had the choice where they could go to school then schools would kick into high gear to A) make learning fun B) be the best schools they can be

Without competition progress is halted. It's been like this for 60+ years, time for a change. In my link following my tagline I discuss this a bit towards the end.

Oh, the joys of a partisan, mainstream media.

There's also something positive here, although we shouldn't expect the AP to expand much further.

Yes, President Bush and Education Secretary Rod Paige both come from the Lone Star state.

However, by withholding education funds in this instance, the Department of Education actually displays more of an unbiased position in regards to Texas.
