The author said "An attack on children is an attack on all humanity." Truer words have never been spoken. The islamists have set the stage for their own, well-deserved destruction. It remains to be seen whether or not we do the right thing, and rise to the occasion and annihilate this vile pox on mankind. islam is at a crossroads: it can retreat from its present course of hatred and bigotry and savagery and death, and thus rehabilitate itself; or it can be finally and completely destroyed. I think islam has opted for the latter. If that's the case, then let's accommodate it.

This line reminds me of how Woodrow Wilson characterized the German U-boat attacks against civilian ships in World War I. The massive loss of civilian life in the North Atlantic gave Wilson enough popular support to send troops to France, despite having won in 1916 on the theme of having kept the U.S. out of the war.
