Late last night BBCC World said, "Some children started to escape from one area of the school,( i.e. 100 Harry Potters and Frodo) - then the Arabs started shooting." I have not heard this in the American press.

It looks like the idiots caused an accidental detonation. As you said, nobody could stop the kids from running after that. Even death.
