Monk parakeets are indefatigable nest builders, like these living on a microwave antenna in Chicago. The birds love the infrastructure of the power grid. The nests sometimes cause fires or power failures.

We've got ospreys in the area here, who like to nest on top of power lines and short them out.

The power company has responded by building nest platforms and moving the nests onto them, and the ospreys think that's just fine, they'd rather have a platform anyway.

It's hard to say what would lure these parakeets away, though... they look like they just like to make a tangled mess. But there probably is some sort of nest structure they'd go for (and no doubt millions of dollars readily available from bird worshipers to pay for building them...)
