Peroutka: Remarks of Bush Twins to GOP Convention Foolish, Embarrassing, Dishonorable, Not Funny
Yahoo! News ^ | September 1, 2004

WASHINGTON, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The following statement is from Constitution Party Presidential candidate Michael Anthony Peroutka whose running mate is Dr. Chuck Baldwin of Pensacola, Florida:

Is it just me or does anybody else believe that the remarks of the Bush twins at the Republican Convention were foolish, embarrassing, dishonorable to their parents and grandparents, and not funny. Did anybody else cringe and feel sorry for our President and country when Jenna Bush said that Grandma Barbara Bush is "not very hip" because she thinks the TV show "Sex And The City" is "something married people do, but never talk about?"

Jenna Bush's assertion that "Outkast" is a band and "not a bunch of misfits" is --- well, just Google this motley, foul-mouthed, toilet-tongued crew. Check out their photos and lyrics. And I think you'll agree that the word "misfit" doesn't even begin to accurately describe these raunchy rappers.

As for Jenna Bush saying that her Mom and Dad, if begged, would "shake it like a Polaroid picture" (an "Outkast" lyric), the folks at Polaroid say their pictures should not be shaken. A Polaroid spokesman says: "Almost everybody does it, thinking that shaking accelerates the development process, but if you shake it too vigorously you could distort the image. A casual shake typically doesn't affect it."

Barbara Bush said she and Jenna, while not very political, love their Dad "too much to stand back and watch from the sidelines." So, they are campaigning for him. But if they love their Dad, and I'm sure they do, and want to help him, perhaps they should not only stand back and watch from the sidelines but also be quiet while they are standing and watching.

Finally, "Outkast" was not at the GOP Convention. But there were those who were cast out and not allowed to speak there in primetime --- any identifiable outspoken conservative who is: Pro-life; anti-illegal immigration; pro-Second Amendment; anti-Big Government; against Federally-funded education; and anti the war in Iraq.

Sorry to veer off topic. But I'm having a heck of a time posting pics in my posts. Usually I can do it really easily in e-mails to people. I'm new to FR so I'm not sure what method you have to use to do this. Any help please???

Lighten up, they're 21 year old kids.

If it bothered the author so much, he shouldn't brought it up again...it's already old news.

That being said, I know lots of 14 & 15 year olds who seem a LOT more mature than the twins. I don't think it's necessary to attack them for this - but as for defending them, the "kids will be kids" argument never helped ME past age 10...

Wasn't it Peroutka who threw his wife's kids out of the house and made them wards of the state?

Hmm... I thought the daughters' speeches were well placed. The speech itself wasn't that good, but they were just out of college, new to the lime light, and addressing what is probably the most influential political party in the world.

They were there to remind the world that George W. Bush is the father of two very normal daughters. Immediately followed by their father's remarks and introduction of their mother, it served to link them all together publicly in a way that you can see at a wedding anniversary. You know, a little bit of that homey Bush family feeling that will help them identify with American families.

How can you hate a man with two amicable and normal seeming daughters? No glam, no posing... Remember Kerry's daughters? They're much more of the celebrity glamour types in public... and a tad bit patronizing. Not to mention Kerry's daughters react to adversity the same way he does... "Shhh... children! I'm talking here."

Not only that, but they appeal to voters in that age group. George W Bush didn't lose any votes because his cute daughters were cutting up on stage and showing their "wild side." But he may have gained some.

It sure is easy to be critical of those speaking at a national party's convention when your own convention could be held around a bowling alley pool table.

WHAT? NO, THIS CANNOT BE REAL. PEROUTKA CAN'T REALLY HAVE CRITICIZED THEM WITH THIS.

Hey, Peroutka. Regarding your criticism. It's known as projection.

For heaven's sake - they're young adults; lighten up!!!

Did these people get their sense of humor from the Kerry campaign?

I heard they upgraded their "Constitution" Party's cruise ship vacation this year.

They now will have a boat powered by a 24 volt Minn Kota.

Wasn't it Peroutka who threw his wife's kids out of the house and made them wards of the state?

And the last words those kids heard was "And take that gosh durned Outkast music with ya!"

Mr.Peroutka appears to be off his meds again. I am intolerant of intolerance. Children should be seen and never heard, even if they are 22 yrs. old.

They're young ladies. They have class. They're cute as buttons. And they were just having FUN!!! LEAVE THEM ALONE! Sheesh. What a bunch of losers these people are. (Not you, Mike...)

Actually, I think they helped their dad. They are genuine in the love of their parents and grandparents and it shows. America LOVES genuine!

Well, I'm convinced. If Peroutka were running for president's daughter, I'd vote for him. Although maybe a sex change for him would be in order.
