Many reports say that Retiring moderate Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell is considering a run for Governor in Colorado in 2006.
Interesting ...
Is Bill Owens termed out?
Yeah, as far as I know CO is limited to 2 terms; Owens is in his second, most likely headed to a Cabinet post.
Yes. Bill Owens is done and most expect him to be in Bush's next cabinet.
Gotta laugh for a sec.
Ted Nighttrain Kennedy?
Can he run in both the republican and dem primany?
Probably not, I'm just thinking up new nicknames for him.
Owens is term limited and will leave office in January of 2007. Don't look for him to serve in Bush's next cabinet. He's still working on mending his separation from wife Frances.
You really think that is going to prevent him from taking a post??
That's what he used as reason not to run for US Senate, which is why that senate seat is in danger. He said he couldn't go off to Washington at this point.
Lets remember that he voted FOR the Assault weapons ban.
He's already said, publicly and privately, that he has no interest in a cabinet post. Still too many things he wants to get done here in Colorado before he leaves office. I wouldn't be surprised if he runs for Allards' seat in 2008.
If we can win the Coors race this year, and BNC goes Guv, that would effectively shut the Democrats out of the Senate seats and Governorship through 2010 and beyond.
Oh yeah- health problems, age 73 in 2006, a kickback scandal last time I heard; Campbell would make a great candidate! Oops, sorry, the sarcasm button was on.
If he plans on running for President in '08 like many think, he would likely just announce his candidacy instead of running for senate or taking a cabinet position.
I doubt he'll be running for President in 2008. Anything is possible but that isn't very probable.
Isn't he a RINO of the highest ordure?
His real name is Dances With Politicians.
When Ben Nighthorse first ran I was so excited. You see, I am an American Indian and he was to be in Congress. Indians don't usually get that high up in Government. Then after he got in I discovered, to my shame, he turned out to be one of the biggest RINOs in the business. Lost all respect for him. If I were chief, I would remove his feathers and banish him out of the tribe.
Isn't that the "highest odor"?
