Well at least they are consistent liars. I called AP National first (212) 621-1600. They told me that it was the regional office not them. In fact the old bat on the line got very upset and told me "Research it yourself. I'm in NY how would I know who wrote a story in Wisconsin". Click

If you go to:

http://www.lasvegassun.com/sunbin/stories/bw-elect/2004/sep/03/090300455.html

You will find a fairly long AP story about President Bush's speech at West Allis, Wis., written by Deb Riechmann. She's probably travelling with the President.

The story contains this paragraph:

"Before launching into his speech in West Allis, outside Milwaukee, Bush expressed concern for Clinton's condition and said the nation's hopes and prayers were with those affected by the deadly hostage incident in Russia."

It's pretty obvious that she filed the report on Bush's comment about Clinton and either her file contained the booing info or the rewrite guy at AP headquarters just put it in for the hell of it.

The AP should be able to quickly get to the bottom of the problem and either fire Riechmann for filing an erroneous story or the rewrite guy for writing fiction.

Audience boos as Bush offers best wishes for Clinton's recovery
By Associated Press, 9/3/2004 13:57

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (AP) President Bush on Friday wished Bill Clinton ''best wishes for a swift and speedy recovery.''

''He's is in our thoughts and prayers,'' Bush said at a campaign rally.

Bush's audience of thousands in West Allis, Wis., booed. Bush did nothing to stop them.

Bush offered his wishes while campaigning one day after accepting the presidential nomination at the Republican National Convention in New York. Clinton was hospitalized in New York after complaining of mild chest pain and shortness of breath.

Bush recently praised Clinton when the former president went to the White House for the unveiling of his official portrait. He lauded Clinton for his knowledge, compassion and ''the forward-looking spirit that Americans like in a president.''

The reporter is Tom Hayes who has since been removed from the byline.

Liberal media got caught with their tit in the ringer on this one.
