Great news! But not a time to get complacent. Make sure that all of your neighbors who you know will vote Republican on November 2 go to the polls. Stop by retirement and nursing homes and shop for potential Republican voters who need a ride to the polls on election day. Get out the Republican vote!

After the election I want an investigation into these polling services. I'm still convinced they haven't been entirely ethical throughout this whole period.

I Do Know that barring the media props Kerry wouldn't have even been tied. Our enemey has always been the media, NOT Kerry. This is why G.W. has been holding up so well to remain tied. He just got 3 hours of free almost positive (barring journalists) press on the networks to tell the Truth. Imagine that. 3 hours against years spent tearing him down. That is the power of the TRUTH.

Now, I am still hesitant of polsters. I do not trust them, do not even trust them now. But I have suspected G.W's support was higher than stated for a long while. Coming off of Susan and Kerry's performances, to name two, I'm convinced they are aware a seismic shift has occured. This is why I'm inclined to indulge in some well deserved shouts of Joy. LOL

Good news. Let's watch now how the MSM uses this bounce as another opportunity to attempt to tear down our president. They will show every downward hiccup as "public sentiment" moving agains Bush.

I think that as more people take a close look at both candidates, the gap between the two will continue to expand.

Senator Kerry *must* throw hail Mary passes in the 3 debates. You know it. I know it. Shrum knows it. Heck, even the lowbrows at DU know it.

Kerry: "I threw a Hail Mary pass in the debate that matched the real Hail Mary pass my favorite college player, Dan Flutie, threw when he played for my favorite Connecticut college lacrosse team, the Boston College Celtics".

FYI Kerry was up 49-42 in the 8/29 Time poll.

I didn't believe that poll, so I shouldn't beleive this one. But I want to.

Here's a hoot from DU-- they're counting on UNLIKELY VOTERS!---------

Oh, brother. I remember that from us in 1964: Barry would bring in all the disaffected conservatives who never had anyone to vote for.

I was 13, and that was the last time I fell for that line.

I agree with you ---- the Dems need to be taught a lesson in this election that they'll remember for the next 50 years. Don't let up -- even for a moment.

However, in the spirit of compassion -- we may have to form watch details on the many bridges in my area because they may decide to jump. (We'll worry about deprogramming them later?)

Looks like a tidal wave building for GW? If the results of this poll only go thru Tuesday -- you can probably add a point or point and a half for Zell's speech, and probably 2-3 points for GW's speech when those are factored in?

Kerry's Senate record has always been his soft spot --- and it got hammered loudly and often this week. Kerry's secret is out in the open and its going to turn voters off like a light switch!

Methodology: The TIME Poll was conducted August 31 – September 2 by telephone among a random sample of 1,316 adults, including 1,128 reported registered voters and 926 likely voters. The margin of error for registered voters is +/- 3% points, and +/- 4% points for likely voters. Schulman, Ronca, & Bucuvalas (SRBI) Public Affairs conducted the poll, and more complete results are attached.

More than half of these are just registered voters. Add another point or two.

DU Thread titles...edited to remove obscene words.

Interesting to note, given the responses folks make here when polls announce bad news!

Bush With 11 Point Lead Now
I wont be cryin in my beer just yet ...
Time magazine
says what?
likely voters, an 11-point lead for Bush
That's pie in the sky wishful thinking.
likely i believe means that people voted regularly in the past
It varies from pollster to pollster.
what?!?!
It was a Time Magazine poll.
This can't be right, anyway.
Exactly. Look here for something closer to reality
Doesn't matter
WHAT? Not ######## possible.
Yeah, right. I just saw a flying pig, too.
#### ####### ####!
Woodruff sounded ecstatic when she said that
The poll was taken
No way is he that far ahead.
no way
Do you have a link?
i saw it on CNBC, then on CNN a few minutes later
Well, you know that this will be considered bogus unless we have proof
um...huh?
########, race neck and neck, see polling report
this is time on polling report
Zogby poll that ended yesterday only has Bush up by 2
And Time's VERY OWN 8/24-26/04 poll shows Kerry and Bush TIED
Yes. Zogby telephone poll of 1001 LV was taken 8/30-9/2!
Can't be true
Sounds like they chose a high enough number
Woodruff
Taken on the two days Before Bush's speech
This poll is very bizarre--it is completely outside of the general trends
Definitely an outlier if true
Bullshit
grrrrrrrrr
I guess most Democrats take vacations at the end of August...
Let the Repukes believe that if they want
Here's the link--five point bounce for Bush from last LV poll
Unfortunately there is a link
Time = CNN = Lies
Not surprising
Could be 25. Don't care, we've got the momentum back in 1 day!!
yup
CNN is telling a POLL FACE LIE!
TIME is no RW rag.
It would be dumb to start panicking already
pollster is SRBI, links to Rove?? manufacturing momentum???
THE SKY IS FALLING!!!
Happens on a weekly basis.
The poll is utter ########
Cnn and Time, pleeeeeeaaaassssseeeee
Rove seeks to create an atmosphere of hopelessness so donations to
Where is Bush's 20 point bounce??? He is so over if 11 is all he can do
These "poll" threads are always very telling,

The only one I botthered to open was the 'we've got the momentum back' - said that now Kerry has come out swinging, everything is gonna change!

Since Sep 1, Rasmussen has been calling 1000 per night instead of just 500. His 3 day tracking totals 3000 voters. Someone said he averages 3 one days polling results to get his 3 day average. Another said he gets the 3 day polling result from the total sample of 3000.

Either way, it's a decent device that has been improved this year over the last election cycle.

Good points you make. Thanks.

In fairness, yes. She prefaced announcement by saying, "in news that is sure to please supporters of President Bush . . . "

Judy, let me rephrase that for you.

"in news that is sure to please the majority of Americans . . . "
