The events in that Russia school was a dress rehearsal for what al Qaeda has planned for the USA, more of a test really. The terrorist passed with a big A+. They managed to take over a school with adults there, more adults than usual in a very short time. They weakened all the hostages by not allowing them food or drink, and it appears they had many strip. This made the adults and older children to embarrassed to flee. They managed to rig the building with explosives further intimidating the adults and scaring the children. If there were unseen tripwires, who would want to escape and perhaps kill their own child(en) or families?
According to some folks here in School security, al Qaeda has threatened us with this same scenario, with the addition of killing a child every hour until their demands are met. The demands will be to get out of the Middle East or something as unrealistic. Elementary schools are the prime targets as Junior High and High School students would fight back. These terrorists are prepared to die for their cause so negotiation is not a viable option so no positive outcome.
