We should be careful about initial reports of number of casualties. Remember how often numbers were revised for September 11th? Although, there is a report that a wall or the ceiling collapsed in part of the school. Still--confirmation of true numbers is forthcoming.

I agree. I just hate to have to believe it, if it's true, also, that those poor kids could have been murdered. Either way - murder or roof collapse - it's an absolute tragedy and the cowardly actions of a small group of terrorists led directly to their deaths. I read that some of the terrorists escaped, and were chased down by the Russian cops who were shooting at them. It so disgusts me that these animals could do that to kids - and women, too - that I think I could shoot them myself.

As an aside, most of the news sources I've read in English call the cowards 'hostage-takers' and rebels and such, careful with the word terrorist. The Russians aren't so girlie about it. A Russian newssite, NEWSRU.com , in cyrillic, doesn't mince words, the bad guys are repeatedly called terrorists, as it should be.

Those numbers were revised down. Unfortunately in Russia the opposite is often the case. It certainly was during the theater hostage crises two years ago.
