I would have to know the details on the ground, but in principle I agree with the use of force in this type of situation.

When militants takes hostages, it doesn't matter. The whole practice of hostage taking loses much of its leverage potential. The message it sends: you can't hide behind children or anywhere - - We're coming.

I agree with heavy force, too. Otherwise all the power is in the terrorists' hands, and YOU negotiate with them. I hope the CIA/ FBI are watching. I knew the Ruskies wouldn't put up with this for long. Poor babies. I hope they flatten Chenhnya.
