As a side note, anyone see McCain's wife at the convention? I haven't seen a picture of her since the 2000 election season, but she looks gorgeous with longer hair. She really is stunningly beautiful...
I think McCain's wife hurt his chances of getting the nomination in 2000. She looks 'hard,' long hair or no. (And the drug addiction/theft story didn't help, either -- shades of Kitty Dukakis).
The media may not think it's fair to be 'judgmental' of candidates' wives (particularly when they're Dem candidates wives). But I think voters really do take potential first ladies into consideration before they cast their votes.
