Think back to 1988----Michael Dukakis left his August convention up buy 14 points. Bush won.
The media was on "The Duke's" side then, and they are on Kerry's now.
If Bush is up by 8 points, Kerry is in big, Big, BIG trouble.

Speaking of Dukakis, lurking over at DU today there was a thread about how Kerry is nearly mortaly wounded by the SwiftVets. Others were outraged that anyone would suggest such a thing.
A poster replied to them and the Kerry campaign, if you think the SwiftVets haven't hurt Kerry and all is fine you are living in "Dukakkis Political Fantasy Land."

Also, the article they were talking about was quoting unnamed Kerry campaign people about how it was a huge mistake for them to not respond quickly to the SwiftVets. One poster said the entire article is crap if the staffers are not named and he would only believe something said directly by Kerry or Edwards.
I wish I could post over there. I would have responded to him, "Well, if your waiting for Kerry your gonna have a long wait. He hasn't answered a reports question since Fox News Sunday on August 1st."
Further on that, give that some serious thought. The Presidential Nominee for one of the two major parties, has NOT spoken with reporters in over a month! A MONTH!
Seems they are taking Rush's advice, Kerry does better when he is not seen or heard.
