I'll bet he [Zell Miller] gets a nice job in the adminstration when W wins.

He doesn't want one. He wants to retire. Again.

He served as governor of Georgia and had retired to the mountains of North Georgia; he may still teach history at Young Harris, but as I don't live in Georgia any more I can't be sure.

He only came out of retirement when the governor of Georgia requested that he fill the Senate seat of Paul Coverdell after Coverdell passed away.

And it was at that point that he saw what was going on and started getting really angry at where the national party had gone...

And, as an ex-Georgian let me tell you: don't let those ignorant comparisons the national media is making of Zell = Lester Maddox fool you.

Behind all the segregationist stereotypes (ax handles and the like, which Maddox played to the hilt for votes and profit!), the fact is, that when Maddox was governor, he did more to help blacks than any other governor in the state's history.

In other words, just like George Wallace in Alabama.

Whoever has the votes makes all the difference to a politician.
