Looks like they are YET AGAIN going to resurrect Bush's Guard service as an issue. They are bringing this woman out, yet again, and reporting it as brand new news, yet again. How many times, and in how many elections, can the media get away with using this September/October surprise? I mean seriously........how many times can this get reported as brand new?

We have rules around here. You can't post from salon.com without posting a chart of its stock price so we can all laugh at them.

A quarter for every mainstream report that finds a new witness against Kerry.

Comical.

Kerry falsified his after-action reports, was not a hero, called his fellow solidiers war criminals, met with the enemy in Paris, and is an overall traitor, despite the fact he was in 'Nam.

Bush served honorably, flew jet fighters, did not fake his military record, and leads us ably in the War on Terror (in which Kerry would basically surrender).

Comical.

So the widow of a George Bush opponent tells a story about a phone call which she was not a party to?

This is reportage?

Faking a war record is worse than not having one.

Actually, Bush has one, since 9/11/01.

Linda Allison watches it all from her New York apartment. About George W. Bush's disputed sojourn in Alabama, she asks simply: "Can we all be lying?"<<<<

In a word, YES!

This lady forgets that Bush didn't run on his National Guard record while Kerry has staked his claim on his Vietnam record.

I have to wonder if it could be true, but for a different reason. Maybe George HW Bush DID want his son to get into the NG. Wasn't GHWB Director of the CIA at the time? Wouldn't his son have been a major risk to the military in the event he was captured? Wouldn't the communists have LOVED to have gotten their hands on him? So Poppy got him a twofer: son could serve his country like so many other young men, yet not get into harm's way so that his fellow soldiers would be endangered?

The article states: "While Kerry earned a Silver Star and a Bronze Star after saving a crewmate's life under fire on the Mekong River in Vietnam ..."

This has been shown to be fiction. It's not true, didn't happen.

Salon publishes fiction.
