Lefty epee fencers were always trouble! Good luck with your guy...LOL!
I am a big guy and loved to fleche against opponents. When I went by would occasionally give them a shoulder. It worked.

The fleche is a devastating weapon against female opponents - even in sabre and foil.
I am short, with short arms and legs, so I typically would retreat a step or two in a fairly high stance, then crouch and explode forward and upward. I usually got in under the blade. (Occasionally I got nailed though.)

BTW, who did you fence for? When I fenced for Princeton back in the Very Dark Ages, women were only allowed to fence foil by the NJ Athletic Assn. But I switched to sabre as soon as I could . . . .

The only thing that would make the duel better would be if Zell said," My name is Diego Montoya, you killed my father, now, prepare to die."
