Kerry campaign has admitted to his meeting Madame Binh at least one time, that being his "honeymoon" trip to France to meet with them at the Paris Peace Talks in 1971.

From my blog:

Kerry first admitted meeting with communist representatives in Paris in 1970, in his own testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on April 22, 1971, at a time he remained an officer in the US Naval Reserve and in apparent violation of U.S. code 18 U.S.C. 953, which disallowed private citizens from negotiating with foreign powers. Kerry stated, "I have been to Paris. I have talked with both delegations at the peace talks, that is to say the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and the Provisional Revolutionary Government (PVR)."

On March 24, 2004, Michael Meehan, official spokesman of the Kerry campaign, confirmed that John Kerry indeed traveled to Paris in 1971 and met with Madame Binh and also admitted he met with other members representing both the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (the North Vietnamese) and the Provisional Revolutionary Government (the Viet Cong).

Michael Kranish and Patrick Healy report "Kerry Spoke of Meeting Negotiators in Paris", in the Boston Globe, March 25, 2004.

On July 22, 1971, John Kerry held a public press conference in which he advanced the positions stated & outlined in his personal meeting with Madame Binh.

"Americans have no idea what Kerry was doing during that time in Paris,"

I think this is operative. Yes, we may know he met with the enemy in Paris, but we don't know what was said or done and I think the above aludes to this.

Your blog indicates one meeting and he's been forthcoming about it. I heard Newt talk about it tonight before being interrupted by Zell and wasn't clear if he said THREE MEETINGS. If he had, that sheds a different light on things.

Nutmeg, if Kerry did indeed make three trips and all hell breaks loose, would it mean they might have to replace Kerry with another candidate? I shudder to think who that might be.
