The men were Mexican, but apparently, they could have been from anywhere.
That is insane. I've been here for over 4 years and have had police and FBI background checks and I still can't work for any "Government" related jobs.
MD
Ping.
It's a goddamn circus.
My company requires contractors to certify in writing that all of their employees in our facilities are U.S. persons (not the same as citizens, basically they are working legally). In my facility, they must also be citizens.
Of course, we do take their word for it, but at least we have it in writing if anything happens.
Just as a side note to the national security issues raised here, it really f*cks up your life when someone has been collecting income, but not paying taxes, under your social security number as these guys were.
AMERICAN AIRLINES uses ARAMARK. But they are too politically correct to ever call them on something as silly as an immigration violation. /sarc
Right in the supposedly "secure" areas and free to wander as they please.
This will continue to happen as long as we allow thousands of undocumented aliens to come across our borders. Our WOT will be worthless unless we secure these borders. I hope and pray that GW will make this happen on Nov 3rd.
He won't make it happen.
Good job on finding these guys! Nice work.
Well, think of the money the company is saving./sarcasm
So, does the term, "unauthorized" refer to their immigration status or their eligibility to receive Social Security benefits?
Get your U.S. citizenship and that'll change.
I hope you're right, but my faith in GWB when it concerns the borders is nil.
A well planned circus act that is almost a decade into its growth. (hint->Alamos is giving away what they have difficulty locating.)
re (Science and Technology) A report from U.S. Embassy Beijing November 1996
Summary. The State Council 'Decision on Accelerating S&T Development' outlines China's S&T development strategy for the next several decades. It decrees that S&T research must become closely tied to the market; S&T is no longer the province of the old Soviet-style institutes but the universities and private industry should do research as well. The "Decision" calls on research and institutions of higher education to create joint ventures with Chinese or foreign venture capital in order to accelerate the transfer of S&T advances to industry. State Council goals include boosting total S&T spending to 1.5 percent of GNP by the year 2000, protecting the environment, achieving sustainable development and indigenization of S&T creation capability in key areas of manufacturing technology and systems design. Additional cables in this series examine the detailed explanation of this policy in the State S&T Council report 'Science and Education for a Prosperous China' written for CPC and government officials. End summary.

That's pretty much the only concern I ever hear voiced.
Everything else is subordinate.
Odd position for companies basically doing just fine on the taxpayer dime.
A neighbor kid here couldn't start college or get hired because someone was using his number.
Another how the hell do they manage this in the news today!!!
Thanks for the ping!
In progress ;-)
