My impression of the Weathermen and other anti-war radicals was that they were more wrapped up in themselves and the power of their actions than they were in the socialist agenda that they were supporting. I would tend to agree. The stated purpose was "socialism in our time", but the underlying motivation was basically nihilistic.
The sixties radicals weren't into building anything. But destruction suited them just fine...

When you think about it, the same can be said for today's limosine liberals. They talk about redistribution of wealth, everyone else's wealth that is. They really don't believe in the socialist platitudes that they espouse, either.

They really don't believe in the socialist platitudes that they espouse, either. Oh, they believe in them. For everybody else.
One of the great attractions of socialism is that somebody needs to "run the deal". And, to serve as the Politburo, supervising the apparat, who better than they?

..they were more wrapped up in themselves and the power of their actions ... Sounds like John Kerry. It is also what made them (and makes Kerry) a 'useful idiot' to our enemies.

No American (with an ounce of national pride and self respect) wants to see this... third world, Euro-barbarian, mob mayhem unleashed on the streets of a great American city.
That's the thing though.... A majority of Americans would not support such a candidate and the thugs he represents... however, what blinds "educated Amerikans" so greatly that they support a candidate who represents the lowest of the low...
Maybe its because I'm not one to sympathize with sociopaths and their ideologies... who knows.

Maybe the most astounding expose of the mainstream media's liberal bias, is how they let Hillary get away with her VRWC allegations. It's laughable, isn't it, that Richard Mellon Scaiffe was demonized as he was, yet this cast of characters remains basically unknown, and unscrutinized, even as mainline Clinton people swell their ranks.
Not only swell their ranks, but move back and forth at will, between these shadowy money organizations, leftist media rags, and legitimate political organizations on the left.
