I guess NLG is not really interested in protecting the free speech rights of protestors generally, but only leftist protesters.

There was an NYCLU person blocking the protesters' view of us on Saturday as we protested the protesters at the Brooklyn Bridge. I asked her to move. She said, "The press is blocking you too." I pointed out that whereas they were taking our pictures to give us even more exposure, she wasn't, and she was supposed to be there to protect our right to protest. She didn't give me the satisfaction of agreeing with me, but later she did move out of the way.
