COULD ALAN KEYES BE PERSUADED TO GIVE UP THE ILLINOIS RACE AND COME BACK TO VIRGINIA? (This is Sarcasm --- I was sticking up for Keyes until this Cheney-daughter thing; if he's going to be involved in politics, he has to learn a measure of discretion while not abandoning principle - I'm sad to have to say it, but apparently he doesn't want to learn the virtue of prudent self-control)
The tactics used against Schrock might have been sleazy, but realistically I find it impossible to imagine that he is a straight guy who was totally slandered and just decided to drop out. Let's remember that he is the incumbent. If the charges were false, all he had to do was say so and put the onus on the other side to prove it.
I went to the web site and listened to the audio. It's of a guy calling into some kind of gay dating service to describe the kind of guy he wants to go out with. I don't know Schrock's voice, but if it isn't his, it would be a simple matter, using voice recognition technology, to prove it.
Same here.
Must Alan Keyes actually verbalize every thought that bounces around in his head?
(ok, now back to the topic at hand)
So lemme get this straight, if someone accused ou of being a homosexual, and you were straight, you wouldnt defend yourself and try to set the record straight ?????
then YOU'RE.... (well since you're correcting yourself..;)
and I agree YOUR point...

Big Country
Just finished driving 3,900 km (2,400 miles) from San Francisco to Sylvania.

San Francisco....hmmmm
Go to this site for more thoughts from Mike Rogers.

Check out his photo and his T-shirt. THAT should tell you all you need to know about Mike Rogers!
And Lew Rockwell sinks even lower into the slime. To think that ten years I respected that guy.
If the allegations are true, then I don't think anyone in that position, dumb enough to do what was alleged, should hold office. It was just plain stupid.
Well, to be fair, I never called him gay. And the term you are looking for is bi-sexual. But I think my statement about him pretending to be hetero is not inaccurate.
I could not care less about one's sexual orientation. I do not morally condemn gays. Never have, never will. It's not my place in life to do so. I'll leave that to others more perfect than myself.
It's the character issue about this that intrigues me. The 2 posts I've made on this topic prior to this one address that issue only.
His bio on his website makes him out to be a family man. Those trolling for male/male sex (see I didn't say gay) while pretending to be family men have put themselves in a position in which their character can be called into question, doncha think?
DID the New York Times "out" Rep. Ed Schrock (R-Va.)? Schrock announced on Monday he wouldn't seek a third term. An Associated Press story the Times ran on page 12 Tuesday stated: "Reports that Mr. Schrock is gay had roiled the party since they were posted on a Web log on Aug. 19."
The Times, like nearly every other news organization, has a policy against "outing" closeted gays. But Times spokesman Toby Usnik told us: "We don't know of any rule or policy that this violates. We did not do any reporting that resulted in outing anyone. Furthermore, the full stories about Rep. Schrock and his situation appeared on all the national news agency wires, reaching thousands of newspapers, starting at 10 o'clock Monday evening."
Schrock, 63, a Vietnam veteran, cited unspecified "allegations" that "have called into question my ability to represent" his constituents. Gay activist Michael Rogers told reporters he outed Schrock on his blogactive.com because of the lawmaker's hypocrisy in opposing gay marriage. And Rogers promised more outings not only of gays in congress and in the Bush administration, but also straights who've had extramarital affairs.
