I am surprised so many people give a flip whether or not they were funny or poor comedically. The convention is not a somber event, and there are many opportunities for lighthearted moments, funny or not.
At least they don't project the elitist self-importance of the Kerry kids.
I'd rather see the Bush twins make bad attempts at jokes than the Kerry girls give tongue-baths to Ben Affleck and the like any day.
I dunno, those elephant-head hats and stars and stripes sequined jackets covered with campaign buttons project a pretty sober image to me...
