Ha ha. Well, they said it, not me:
"Remember all those times when you're growing up and your parents embarrased you? Well, this is payback time on live t.v.!"
(I loved it and thought they we're funny. I'm sure that their family loved it too!)
Video of twins convention speech courtesy msnbc.com here
Hey -- I loove Mad Magazine...
This??
This was a "speech" tailor-made for a teen pajama party.
Exactly. No harm, no foul.
Yeah -- and disappointed. I was really prepared to like them, be charmed, whole nine yards.
Dan
Of course, these armchair critics would leave a puddle on the stage if they had to get up in front of a national televison audience.
I look at it this way. The twins know as much about stem cell research as Ron Jr does. The only difference is they didn't try to talk about it.
I'm sure you'd be a stitch.
You don't have to like them, just vote for their Dad.
Actually I'm not sure why you're thinking. You need to get better at it. If you can't accept a light hearted moment of banter, for what it is, you have series other issues.
No wonder we Conservatives have the reputations as grumpy, sourpusses. I'd much rather listen to those young ladies giggle any time than your kind of dour diatribe.
I know you will take this to heart since you care so much about what some anonmymous radio caller thought.
BUSH/CHENEY IN 2004
Hey, all, wow, now I'm afraid to say I thought they were adorable and very cute. I enjoyed their talk.
Don't hit me, don't hit me! ;-D They were cute.
Yeah, well... as long as they're not hugh.
Dan
Really? Bad call on their part. That line should have been summarily zotted in the first edit.
I'm 26 and laughed at some of what they said. I thought they came across as normal. I loved how they teased their grandmother. They could only do that if they had a close relationship with her. It reminded me how I used to tease my grandmother.
Maybe my sense of humor is warped, but I thought it was entertaining.
Nope. Purely as a result of their performance, I am now going to vote for that lying, hypocritical, communist sympathizing, terrorist appeasing, limp-wristed, "empty suit" gigolo, John Kerry.
Geez. What's with this crowd today? Lighten up on the twins, please. They want to help their dad. They are not used to that kind of limelight and they were NERVOUS. The writers should be fired, I agree, but I thought they were cute. I have daughters about the same age and they act the same way. What I saw was three generations of a family that is filled with love and respect. I suspect a lot of other people did too.
BTW, if I was single and, much, MUCH closer to 25, I would be on my way to New York to look them up.
It was cheezy and frankly unbecoming. But it will get a pass as they are just 20somethings.
Gee guess what, the Bush family is just like a lot of other families, they don't groom their kids for public service like that other family on the other side of the aisle. The Bush kids can have their own lives.
They were a little on the silly side and looked much younger than their years. I think they gave this fanTAStic Convention a very human touch--as teenagers are prone to do at a family event. (I know--they're not teenagers) Did Granma Barbara seem embarassed?
Yeah -- That must be it.
I can't wait for John Edwards to have his 10 year old address the Democratic National Convention in '08.
"I'm sure you'd be a stitch."
I would indeed...
But I would pay good money to see you do your thing.
I'm thankful the Bush twins are sensible enough to be Republicans after 4 years of socialist indoctrination in college.
Freepers! Go back to college! Take on those professors!
