Bush twins 'embarrass' parents. (video)

Posted on 09/01/2004 7:58:42 AM PDT by evets

Ha ha. Well, they said it, not me:

"Remember all those times when you're growing up and your parents embarrased you? Well, this is payback time on live t.v.!"

(I loved it and thought they we're funny. I'm sure that their family loved it too!)

They're cute . . . kind of bratty . . . but cute.

Something tells me if I said the same thing about the Kerry daughters you'd be patting me on the back.

Actually, I wouldn't be.

I just think it's silly that this is even an issue at FR. Nobody's going to vote or not vote for Bush based on his daughters.

If only that were true.
You obviously are giving our "holier than God" contingency, more credit than they are due.

The nervous, self-concious stage fright is something precious. It is in fact priceless and once lost cannot be regained.

The real trick is learning to fake it.

I forgot.

The Bush twins actually drink alcohol. That's worthy of hell right there.

If you want a serious politican who raises serious daughters, you can always vote for John Kerry.

One of those kids just reeked of "Hi, I'm easy".

But what else is new?

Really the whole thing was pointless, crass and ridiculous--not to mention, grating on the ears--but I guess somebody took a poll and realized that there was one element of the Big Tent 2004 RNC that they had yet to appeal to: The dumbed-down MTV sh*t-for-brains GenX/Y/Z crowd. Well, they are Americans, too, I suppose. Whatever.(Man. Dude. Or whatever the exclamatory is these days).

Use of the TV mute button put AmericanInTokyo's family out of our collective misery until they got those two ("you know who's" as Barbara Bush puts it) off the stage and we got back to the real program.

Let's hope we don't have to suffer through another one of those pandering-to-the-lowest-nature-in-us disasters this political season or in future conventions.

And this lady with the remote mike reporting excitedly with the coarse, stressed-out voice from various state delegations. It's worse than finger nails on a blackboard after a hangover. Whats' up with THAT?

My vote isn't based on any candidate's family. Hence the reason the daughters didn't belong there in the first place.

There's no doubt the FReeper police would do that. All we'd hear is how trashy they acted bringing up sex and rap songs, etc.

Try to set partisan considerations aside and look at this objectively for a moment.

Hahahaha -good one! I used to expect that too on this forum. Have you been called every name in the book yet for rejecting the tacky twins moment?

The one on the left (Barbara) looks a bit like Joan Rivers.

Agree with you completely. I was cringing through their whole performance. It was lame - lame - lame. If Chelsea Clinton has made mono-Bono and Sex in the City jokes Freepers would have a field day with that.

This morning our local radio station played parts of their commentary. They then played part of an old Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon and said that Jenna did the voice of Rocky. They then played a song parody that hit both candidates daughters. It was pretty funny.

As a 45 year old adult, yes the girls missed the mark.

At 45 years old myself, I guess I am just young at heart.

Oh, mrs t............don't these people have lives??

The girls were unpolished, very real, and adorable. They said funny stuff and showed that they adore their parents. IMO, they did just fine.

(Have these people never met good humored, well raised 20 somethings??? Sheesh!!!)
