You're vastly overstating the case. Radical Islam is indeed trying to start a worldwide war, and part of their strategy is to pull the rest of the Islamic world into the fight.

Most Muslims, however, just want to be left alone, and they're not really interested in fighting a world war. For example, if you look at Iraq or Afghanistan, you find that the vast, vast majority of the population in those places is not involved in the fighting, nor apparently are they particularly interested in supporting the salamikazes who are fighting.

Part of our strategy has to be to separate the radical salamikazes from the rest of the pack, and to avoid driving normal people over to the side of evil. And, of course, the other part of the strategy has to be hunting down the evil ones and removing them from the planet.

I'll believe that when I hear the Muslims from all the free countries denouncing terrorist acts.I haven't heard them yet.People better pull their heads out and start getting serious or you are not going to have heads to pull out.This is not some overseas problem that we can all sit around and speculate what might be or could be.They have already shown me what they are and I believe them.

And how pray tell do you distinguish one from the other?

Since they both read the same "holy" book and they both hold the same tenets at the core of their doctrine. Just because the "supposed" peaceful ones haven't yet acted on that doctrine doesn't mean they won't become "radical" if pressed to the wall.

They are not interested in OPPOSING their more more inflammatory kin as well. You see Muslims in the end want everyone else to be Muslim...whether they are militant about it or not.
