* A city once known for good management has a pension plan more than $1 billion in the red.
SAN DIEGO Somewhere in tax-fighting heaven, Howard Jarvis must be spinning.
The city that the late sponsor of Proposition 13 once extolled as nonpareil in its stewardship of public money ("If all cities were run as well as San Diego, we wouldn't need Proposition 13") is now caught in a financial crisis of colossal proportions.

What does Jarvis have to do with this? Jarvis made his comments when San Diego was well-run.... no?

I wonder how much money they are having to spend on upkeep and lost revenue after kicking the Boy Scouts out of their park? Inquiring minds would like to know. I know it's a small sum compared to the whole amount but every little bit contributes.

Good question.
Will this hurt the GOP?

My home town. I'm so proud ...

Nope I doubt it will hurt the GOP. This was a liberal Judge and the ACLU aligned with the GAY community's doing. The City Council didn't have the backbone or money to fight them. As usual the kids suffer because the sodomites and their supporters have to have their say and way.

Rodger Hedgecock must love this material.

Rodger Hedgecock must love this material.Indeed he does. He's been alerting people to this situation for over a year now. The mayor keeps coming out with happy talk, the Union Tribune keeps printing it, and the public slumbers on. I imagine they'll start waking up now that the deteriorating roads will start ripping out the undercarriages of their cars.

but they have a great ballpark and convention center!

The wishy-washy RINO Mayor Murphy, who was AWOL when we needed that fire-fighting helicopter, needs to be defeated in November by County Supervisor Ron Roberts (R)!
Ron Robert's campaign site.
