My comments were directed to the two New Yorkers on our thread who are very worried that the speach will not be well received. I guess my point is, it is likely to be received much more warmly in the Midwest and in the South than in NYC (or New England or the West Coast for that matter).
Outside of New Haven and Bridgeport and Hartford, and Westport, CT. is still VERY Republican.Even with the influx of Liberals from Mass.,so is much of New Hampshire.VT.was a lost cause in the early '50s,when I was a kid.Maine has also been invaded;sadly. And R.I. has ALWAYS been a bit weird;not to mention corrupt.
Don't paint with a broad brush.......I'm a Conservative and as I said, was born bred and bred in N.Y.C.! I loved Zell's speech,as did my husband, daughter and son-in-law.I'll be talking to friends and family members all over this nation tomorrow, and I am willing to bet, that they ALL loved it.:-)
