I'm as conservative as they come... I'm basing my views partly on how the media have taken numerous GOP (primarily Bush) speeches and events, where all of us cheered and thought were home-runs, which, by the time the media finished spinning, were duds. SOTU is one... THe first of the weekly Iraqi speeches was another... THere are plenty of examples...

When the media starts to bombard and spin, saying he came across as nasty/vindictive/etcetcetc, the GOP will NOT fight back.

I've seen it time and again... Senior GOP leaders will sooner allow Zell to be portrayed as the (stereotypical GOP) nasty, mean-looking person... Rather than defend him, the GOP will leave him out to dry.

I lived in Manhattan 8 years....I know how you feel living behind the lines. It's hard...you're surrounded by the enemy.

I hereby swear to ya that the Red states are firmly held even more than in 00.

The Old Media cannot fix this for the left.....not anymore.

There's the first problem I have with your "position". Most conservatives don't "base their views on the media".

I forgot...you are correct about the GOP's lack of political spine on occasion.

I like to think W and Cheney won't do that to Zell.

But I bet McCain will....in fact I think he already has.
