He in his hubris wanted to go. Then he had to go,,not to would have been really bad {can you imagine the cartoons}. So he went expecting the worst and it was worse than he expected. Boos and jeers could have been spun by the press as mean spirited vets. Silence and desultory applause tell a larger story. The man is in hell. I actually almost have a smidgen of pain for him, then I think of the Hanoi Hilton and the smidgen goes away.

Kerry is also planning a midnight rally in Ohio just a couple of hours after the President's nomination speech. This guy has no class whatsoever.

Maybe he knew it was going to be a tough crowd and that all the focus this week would be on the Convention; he could fulfill the invite to speak to them and hope nobody covered it. Might have been the best of a bad situation for him.
