Brian Lamb has decided today's question will be 'Can the War on Terror be Won.

Many Freepers are simply wrong about this supposed presidential mistake. Whether Bush set the trap intentionally or it was providence, attacking Bush on this issue is pure suicide for Kerry.

First, the electorate thinks Bush is the best person to lead the war on terror. Kerry's best hand is to change the subject to jobs, economy and health care. By investing his energy into the terror argument he is shooting himself in the head.

The second and biggest reason for this being a trap, is that Kerry needs to downplay the terror risk. If the people no longer believe there is much of a threat its not much of an issue. Bush's biggest challenge is to keep people aware that the threats still exist. When he does try, the MSM slams him by saying he is raising the issue for political gain. However if Kerry makes it an issue that its important to win the war on terror he sets it up for Bush.

Agreed. Mara Liason, noted DEM lover on FNC, said the exact same thing. President Bush has been trumpeting the war on terror and defeating terrorists for the past four years. One misplaced phrase will not resonate with the American public. They know Bush has the resolve to defeat terrorists.

Minion, you get it. I've said for a couple of days now that whether this was intended or not is irrelevant. Bush's comment keeps the entire discussion on the WAR ON TERROR, and as soon as you put Bush (even critically) and the phrase "War on Terror" together, people immediately go back to that day in NYC when he stood at ground zero with the megaphone. It's the most amazing thing I've ever seen! The libs just don't get it: they CANNOT beat Bush on the War on Terror, and the Swifties utterly destroyed Kerry's faux proxy to the War on Terror, his "heroism" in Vietnam.

I agree, and it looks like the terrorists are cooperating in spades.

The MSM is downplaying the taking of French Journalists and the 9/11 style terrorist attacks now occurring in Russia. Both are countries that, as you are probably fully aware, did NOT partake in helping us in Iraq. Actually, the contrary was probably true.
